Erythrocytes Nanoparticle Delivery : A Boon for Targeting Tumor

Although nanoparticles have many advantages as drug delivery systems, their poor stability in circulation, premature release, and nonspecific uptake non-target organs prompted biomimetic approaches to camouflage nano vehicles using natural cell membranes. Among them, which are extensively studied erythrocytes, the most abundant circulating blood cells. They specially used for coating on artificial due excellent properties of good biocompatibility, biodegradability, non-immunogenicity, long-term circulation. Erythrocyte-mimicking (EM-NPs) prepared by combining nanoparticle cores with naturally derived erythrocyte (RBC) Compared conventional nanosystems, EM-NPs hold preferable characteristics prolonged circulation time immune evasion. In this review, platform membrane-coated is described various aspects, particular focus placed mechanism, preparation methods, characterization method, recent advances biomedical applications concerning cancer targeted delivery.
